So, you start the new year with a shiny list of resolutions. This is THE year! The first weeks of January, you are buying fresh veggies at the farmer’s market, going to the gym, volunteering. You feel GREAT!! Come March, though, it’s back to the same old habits. Sound familiar? Don’t be discouraged! This year, I have the solution for you to stick to your resolutions: support.
Resolutions are Important
Resolutions are a declaration of intent. That is the first step towards action. Take advantage of the resolution ritual to kick start your dreams. What is your ideal life? What do you want to change in the world? The time to do it is now!
Support Makes the Journey Easier
If resolutions are so important, why do you have such a hard time sticking to them? You (and the rest of humanity) try to make big changes by yourself. Relying solely on will power is TOUGH…and unnecessary! The great thing about resolutions is that most people make them. So, reach out to others in the same boat for support. They can bolster your new mindset and provide a safety net during the challenging times.
Join a Resolutions Group Coaching Cohort or Support Group
The easiest way to find people on the same journey is to join a group coaching cohort or a support group. A group coaching cohort is normally facilitated by a credentialed coach and hosts less than 11 people ready to change their lives in some way. These cohorts combine the power of coaching with the energy of the group. These are, basically, professionally coached support groups.
I, for example, am facilitating 2 group coaching cohorts starting this January, both centered around resolutions. These are the 2020 Resolutions Support Group (English) and the Grupo de Apoyo Resoluciones 2020 (Spanish). Care to join? Click on them for more info!
You may also find free support groups in your area for issues related to your resolutions. This type of support group tends to be a peer meeting that is not facilitated by a coach. You can find some through the Meetup app, for example.
For One-on-One Support, Try Individual Coaching
If you prefer individual support, try one-one-one coaching. That way you can discuss your resolution action plan at length with your coach. You can check out my Resolutions Individual Coaching program.
Not the right time for you to invest in professional coaching? Make a pact with a friend to be each other’s resolution buddies.
Remember, you can accomplish anything…with support!
